Porsche Boxster Story: The Entire Development History Feature

In Porsche Boxster Story author Paul Frère traces the development history of the Boxster, from the original concept car, unveiled at the 1993 Detroit Motor Show, through the evolution of the first-generation 986-series cars, to the latest 987-series. He provides a technical description of the body structure, engine, transmission and running gear as they evolved over the years, together with a summary of press reaction at each stage of development. Finally, he covers the Cayman S coupé, itself based on the Boxster and filling the gap between the Boxster and the 911 in terms of price and performance.

Porsche 911 Story: The Entire Development History Feature

Paul Frere, the highly respected author, sadly died in February 2008 aged 91, so another Porsche expert of similar standing is needed to take over his mantle and carry out the next update on the book. Tony Dron is the ideal candidate and, very pleasingly, he regards the job as an honor and is happy to take it on.  Le Mans in 2011 marks the 60th anniversary of Porsche's participation in the Le Mans 24 Hours. This anniversary is an ideal opportunity to provide a detailed study, packed with photos, narrative and data, of Porsche's part in the world's greatest motor race.
